Emulate Jesus Christ -- Post 27... Be of Good Cheer: A 21 - Day Experiment

The phrase, "Be of good cheer," is mentioned in dozens of passages throughout the scriptures. If the Lord gives us a commandment once, we should obey. If He repeats it dozens of times, we'd better really pay attention. God wants for us to be happy!
Gordon B. Hinckley said, “Don’t be gloomy. Do not dwell on unkind things. Stop seeking out the storms and enjoy more fully the sunlight. Even if you are not happy, put a smile on your face. Accentuate the positive. Look a little deeper for the good. Go forward in life with a twinkle in your eye and a smile on your face, with great and strong purpose in your heart. Love life.”
We can celebrate every moment of our life and relish even the challenging ones. "Man is that he might have joy" (BOM, 2 Nephi 2:25), even during the toughest situations.
Good Cheer Can Become a Habit.
Forming a simple habit requires at least 21 days. One way to cultivate the habit of good cheer is to create a personalized list of simple reinforcement activities and then act on them to cement your habits.
I compiled my own "Good Cheer" list, but I would often forget about it during the day. So I turned my list into a needlepoint sampler and had it elegantly framed. It hangs on my bathroom wall as a reminder first thing every morning of my attitude of good cheer.

What began for me as a 21 - day experiment evolved into the basis for a more joyful life.
Would you like to develop your own 21 - day plan to grow an attitude of good cheer?

I love this! President Hinckley was wonderful when he shared direction on being happy. Everyone can relate at times. We can be happy, hooray!
